“My music is for the dreamers and achievers of the world. I want people to feel motivated to live with passion, heart, and soul, and know that it is okay to do so. Our society needs love, and this comes from those who follow their heart.”

Music is not only a passion for 19 year-old Caragh Kennedy, but also a mission. Having grown up in a musical family in Western Cape Breton, Kennedy has been surrounded by instruments, kitchen parties, song, and dance for as long as she can remember. She began learning piano at the age of three, being taught by her father and grandmother. Guitar came at eight, and by twelve she was writing songs. Today, Kennedy is writing, recording, and performing, having recently hit the stage at events such as Makin’ Waves Cape Breton, Whale’n Boots Music Festival, and StFX University’s 2025 Homecoming Weekend. Kennedy’s music is an original blend of Soft Rock, drawing from Celtic and Blues influences, as well as popular influences such as Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, and the Rankin Family.

Music has been the driving force and focal point in Kennedy’s life, and her Debut EP, The Other Side, has been nominated for Traditional Recording of the Year at the 2025 Music Nova Scotia Music and Industry Awards. This work is sure to be the catalyst for many more exciting things to come!
